Описание
Paul Giraud Elegance Cognac
Elegant by nature, Paul Giraud Elegance is a 6 year old Cognac that surprisingly qualifies as an XO Cognac. One of the youngest in the Paul Giraud range, it is a lively blend of eaux-de-vie, that offers a complex array of aromas, alongside a lingering aftertaste. Meaning, it is sure to leave a lasting impression, long after the tasting. With both fruity and spicy notes dominating the flavor profile, this Cognac provides excellent balance and warmth that can be enjoyed whatever the occasion.
Based in the prestigious Grande Champagne area, the Giraud family has been making Cognac since the 1650s. Noted for its style and elegance, Paul Giraud only produces single year Cognacs; it does not blend from different years. Specializing in the bottling of very old, first class Cognacs the brand follows traditional techniques when it comes to harvesting the land and distilling their wines. Credited for the subtlety and the delicate bouquet of their spirits, Paul Giraud is a lesser known Cognac house to look out for.
Presentation of the bottle
Showcased in a frosted bottle, Paul Giraud Elegance Cognac offers exactly that - pure style and elegance from inside out. The pale golden color of the Cognac contains almost water like hues, making it stand out next to other Cognacs in your collection as Cognac is typically a shade or two darker. Arriving with an accompanying presentation box, this Cognac serves perfectly as an affordable yet luxurious gift to someone with sophisticated taste.
How to enjoy
A vibrant Cognac like this one delights when used in the preparation of cocktails. Get your creative juices flowing by mixing up a cocktail of your choice - using Elegance Cognac as the cocktail base. Alternatively, this Cognac can be appreciated on the rocks as a refreshing aperitif. Sharing Cognac as an aperitif amongst friends, in the right environment, will only optimise the enjoyment of this Cognac even more. It is the perfect accompaniment to a sunny afternoon in the garden.

A Young XO
Albeit presented as an XO, this Cognac is 6 years old and is well below than the age requirement which is 10 years. I do not question this however, as 6 years was of the old standard and the 10 years requirement came to effect not so long ago —I believe in April 2018. I suspect this was bottled...
Not so great
At Cognac Expert, it is described as XO in the product description. I do not doubt that at all, am just surprised that it arrives in a satin bottle and is very fresh, not to say very alcoholic. Neither fruity nor spicy, just good enough for cooking or to hide it in a cocktail, in sum a difficult...
Wonderful vsop
I had the pleasure of experiencing Paul Giraud Elegance Cognac and I must say, it was a truly remarkable experience. The rich and complex flavors danced on my palate, offering a delightful symphony of notes that ranged from velvety caramel to subtle hints of dried fruits. The craftsmanship and attention...
О Paul Giraud
The location of Cognac Giraud is in the prime "1er Cru" cognac growing area of the Grande Champagne, which allows Giraud to produce an exquisite cognac range, from a 6-year old to a 50-year old cognac. The estate is based in Bouteville, and with some additional vineyards in St. Même-les-Carrières, the growing area comes to 35 hectares. The cognac house combines a strong belief in traditional methods with a modern take on cognac production, avoiding any kinds of chemicals or pesticides in their agriculture and coloring additives in the final blends. The work on the plants as well as the actual harvest of the grapes is still done manually, assuring the best possible treatment of the grapes in order to generate the highest quality for the eau-de-vie. Also, Giraud only produces pure vintage cognacs, which means that they never blend eaux-de-vie from different years, but trust in the fine differences between the annual vintages.
