Taylor's comment: "A gracefully aged model of maturity and rancio! Now how do they do that?!?"

Nose: Orange marmalade, dried apricots, prunes, medjool dates, leather belt, exotic, heavy rancio

Palate: Fresher and seemingly younger than the Fillioux. Silk texture, exotic fruits. A shade darker and spicier than the Grande Champagne - often the case with Petite Champagne Cognacs. Mango, guava, apricot, canned peaches, tootsie roll. Mouth coating underlined by line of freshness.

Finish: Long+, spices, candied ginger, tropical fruits, rancio.

Growth area & soil: Petite Champagne

Description

Through the Grapevine Lot 38 Petite Champagne Vallein Tercinier Cognac

Through the grapevine Lot 38 Petite Champagne Cognac is crafted with precision and care, boasting a 42.6% ABV in a 0.7L bottle. Since Georges Vallein began selling bottled cognac in 1850, five generations of distillers have followed in his footsteps, creating exceptional blends. Today, Catherine and Louis Tercinier continue this legacy at the Domaine des Forges, acquired over eighty years ago. This single cask cognac, distilled in 1938 and aged for over 60 years in Limousin oak, plus an additional 20 years in a demijohn, was bottled in September 2022 without reduction.

Presentation of the bottle

The Vallein Tercinier Lot 38 comes elegantly packaged in a sophisticated coffret, symbolizing the cognac's rich heritage and the Tercinier family's dedication to quality.

How to drink

To truly appreciate the depth of the Vallein Tercinier Lot 38, it should be enjoyed neat. Serve at room temperature in a tulip glass to allow its aromatic profile to fully blossom. This cognac is not just a drink; it's an experience to be savored, perfect for contemplative moments or as a distinguished conclusion to a special meal.

About Vallein Tercinier Cognac

With over 500 years of history, the artisan house of Vallein Tercinier is one that deserves the attention of all Cognac lovers – from those new to eaux-de-vie to the connoisseur. This brother and sister team bring an expertise to craft Cognac that's just aching to be discovered.

Many of their Cognac's have been awarded top class awards in many industry competitions, and this has meant a growing awareness of their products in some quarters. But, as with the aging process of Cognac, such a small craft brand is often lost amongst the noise razzmatazz of the 'big boys'. And that really is a crime, because as many esteemed connoiseurs are finding out, the offerings of Vallein Tercinier are of superb quality, unique, and once you've discovered them, will become a 'must have' brand to always have in your drinks cabinet.

Catherine and Louis are very proud to have stepped into the shoes of their many ancestors. And as is in keeping with family tradition, the've continued to move the company forward, whilst remaining true to the pure art of Cognac production. They've adapted the facilities to take full advantage of modern technology, and continue to produce some very special Cognacs indeed.
