Tasting Notes
Peter Bowyer, left a comment about this cognac: "I count myself as one of the fortunate few to have tasted this and can confirm that it is nothing like any other cognac, even other Grande Champagne cognacs of around 100 years old that I have also been fortunate enough to have tasted. The intensity of the flavours and the way they last for ever is what really makes the Arcana so special. Is a bottle of spirits worth this sort of money? Is a Monet worth Ģ100M? Is an old Ferrari worth Ģ10M? If you can afford the very best then this is certainly it. Forget the ridiculously priced blends from the big houses - those are hugely over-priced and mostly contain cognacs that are about a third the age of the Arcana, or less. The big houses use, perhaps, a couple of percent of really old cognacs in order that they can say that they contain something really old - but is 1% or 2% of a really old cognac mixed with much younger cognac somethig which is really old? I don't think so! The Jensen Arcana is all from one cask of extremely old Grande Champagne cognac, around 98 years old I think now. Buy now whilst you can - if you can... I think there are fewer than 300 bottles left."

The house of Cognac Jenssen is located in the heart of premier cru Grande Champagne – in the highly desired ‘golden triangle.’ The estate is called Le Maine Pertubaud and consists of a sprawl of beautifully restored old buildings, ancient cellars, mansions and vines. Jenssen Cognac grows grapes on 25 hectares of vineyards and produces a small range of cognacs that range from VSOP to the prestigious 98 year old “Arcana.”
