Marking the 160th anniversary of the National Fine Arts Exhibition, this project is an ode to the year 1862, when the exhibition first laid its foundation, profoundly influencing the promotion of contemporary art for a century and a half.
"La Source" is the culmination of this exceptional collaboration. This unparalleled initiative led to the crafting of 1862 bottles of Braastad cognac, each a testament to the exhibition's influential journey spanning 160 years.
The bottle, a masterpiece in itself, is adorned with Gaby Studer's exclusive artwork titled "The Source", epitomizing the harmonious fusion of art and cognac. Born in 1968 near Zurich, Gaby Studer's journey in the realm of art began early. Her profound passion for paper cutting, combined with her unique departure from the traditional Swiss style, has culminated in a distinct artistic signature. Her innovation resonates in each bottle of this limited edition, effortlessly merging with the ethos of Braastad Cognac. Each bottle, meticulously numbered, stands as a beacon of exclusivity, intertwining the legacy of the National Fine Arts Exhibition and the finesse of Braastad Cognac.
Crafted exclusively from Ugni Blanc grapes, handpicked from the family's Fins Bois vineyards, this cognac offers a trip back to the 1980s. Each eau-de-vie, distilled with precision during that remarkable decade, encapsulates its spirit. Pour and savor it neatly, letting the myriad nuances, reminiscent of that era, wash over you.
In the heart of Grande Champagne in the village of Jarnac lies the impressive Chateau de Triac. The chateau is the home of Cognac Tiffon, to which the Cognac brand Braastad belongs.
Rubbing shoulders with other famous Cognac houses such as Bisquit or Courvoisier, the brand Braastad was created when a Norwegian named Sverre Braastad married into the Tiffon family.
Known for their devotion to the traditional Cognac producing methods, today the whole process is still carried out at the family premises, and Cognac Braastad’s products are renowned worldwide.
