Opis
A Sunny Disposition: Chainier VS Petite Champagne Cognac
Sourced from the chalky hillsides of Petite Champagne, Chainier VS Petite Champagne Cognac comprises eaux-de-vie matured for 5 to 6 years - significantly more than the minimum required by law for a VS Cognac. The eaux-de-vie are initially aged for 6 to 8 months in new oak casks before being transferred into older Limousin oak vessels. After the first two years, the alcohol volume is brought down to 40 % and the Cognac filtered. In order to keep a constant quality, the cellar master at Cognac Chainier never empties a cask completely, leaving an amount behind to be blended with newer eaux-de-vie.
The Chainier family, originally from the Petite Champagne region, have been making Cognac and Pineau de Charentes for generations. It was in 1970 that Guy Chainier and his son Dominique began to work together on a range of Cognacs, and in the 1980s Dominique Chainier took over the family property in Arthenac to develop the retail side of the business. Branching out from the smaller of the two Champagne regions, the family purchased an 18-hectare vineyard in Grande Champagne, expanding their product potential significantly.
Fiercely independent, the family continue marketing their own products today, with Dominique Chainier and his grandson Clément reaching people around the world through their website as well as numerous trade fairs.
Presentation of the Bottle
The Chainier VS Petite Champagne Cognac comes in a tall, straight bottle, a classic style which was originally popular in the 19th century. The simple but elegant label features the Chainier emblem and the bottle is sealed with gold foil on the neck.
How to Enjoy Chainier VS Petite Champagne Cognac
The Chainier family recommends enjoying this young Cognac as a long drink, particularly as an aperitif with soda or tonic. It would also work great as an ingredient in a range of dessert dishes. We think it’s equally wonderful on its own, especially with a cube of ice in the summer.
O Chainier Cognac
