Armagnac Sempé 1983
Description
Armagnac 1983 Sempé - An 80s Power Ballad That Packs a Punch
This retro powerhouse is a bold brandy from award-winning trading house Sempé. Distilled in Eauze and having undergone long aging in new casks, Armagnac 1983 Sempé proposes an intense tasting experience that ranges from zestiness to rancio. It contains a distinct character, one informed by both the terroir’s elements and the untouchable capture of time.
Armagnac 1983 Sempé is produced by Sempé, a well-known house in the lower Armagnac region. It was founded in 1934 by local Gascon Abel Sempé, an important member of the French Resistance who went on to act as a department senator for many years. The vision of one man now shared with the world is something Sempé seeks to replicate in the experience of their exceptional eaux-de-vie, with their foundational philosophy that pleasure lies in sharing.
Sempé aims for their Armagnacs to always be smooth and round - with a signature balance and long finish - to best reflect the terroir upon which they are produced. Armagnac 1983 Sempé is no exception to this. It boasts an intense bouquet with notes of rancio, orange zest and candied fruits. On the palate, it is powerful, making for an overall boisterous brandy that doesn’t shy away from impact.
Sempé has received almost 100 awards since its creation in 1934, most recently winning gold in 2016 for their fine three-star Armagnac blend.
Taken neat and best shared, Armagnac 1983 Sempé is simply the perfect ticket to intoxicating nostalgia.

Smell good. Taste average
Great bottle and value for money definitely. Sweetness and flowery smell great pleasure. Complexity is in the smell. Taste and finish a little rough and not punchy compared to the smell. Still a great bottle to be savoured and enjoyed. Drank neat in a tulip glass only.
