Description
Giboin Borderies Vintage '74 Cognac
An award-winning, single year, natural cask-strength Cognac, Borderies 1974 is a delectable choice for a Cognac enthusiast looking to try “one of the world’s best Cognacs”. Undergoing a patient aging process, this Cognac is matured in oak wooden barrels until 2005, before being moved and stored demi-johns before ready to be bottled. Produced with eaux-de-vie from the Borderies region of Cognac: an area renowned for its chalky limestone soils. Boasting a harmonious contrast between sweet and spicy, prevailing aromas of plum and fig set this Cognac apart from the rest. Its strong aromatic presence, that is both sensual and warm, leaves a lasting impression beneath hints of blond tobacco and under-wood.
With hundreds of years worth of expertise under their belt, it’s safe to say the close-knit family running Maison Giboin know a thing or two about Cognac. Based in both the Borderies and Fins bois crus, Giboin are artisanal masters in the creation of quality products characteristic of the region and subsoil. Offering a variety of unique Cognacs and Pineau de Charentes, the house of Giboin is a notable brand that deserves a firm place in any Cognac collection.
Presentation of the bottle

Giboin Borderies Vintage ´74 Cognac
The cognac shows a deep amber colour. Complex nose on ripe plums, raisins, blond tobacco, liquorice, white lilies, hints of pepper, cloves and toffee. The palate is fullbodied on sweet plums, figs, and dates mixed with fine spices (cloves, pepper, cinnamon). Fine balance of alcohol, spices and sweetness! The...
