Description
The Dudognon Ancêtre Cognac is a wonderful blend of eaux-de-vie offering notes of gingerbread and sandalwood and pipe tobacco. After just one sip, you’ll be transported back in time to an old tavern filled with jazz music, smoke and the vintage furniture. All of the components that form this blend are at least 10 years old and come exclusively from the family vineyard in the heart of the Grande Champagne region. Ancetre is everything that you could want from a Grande Champagne Cognac; this includes fresh floral aromas that contrast with the scent of soft spices with a long finish containing notes of coffee and vanilla.
The house of Dudogne is a family of winegrowers who have been operating since 1776. Having amassed generations of knowledge about wine-growing and the distillation processes required to create Cognac - the Dudogne family represent a quietly confident Cognac house that should not be under-estimated when it comes to their abilities in producing excellent quality Cognac.
Presentation of the bottle
Dudognon Ancêtre Cognac is presented in a simple bottle, with a gold embellished logo. Whilst presentation of this Cognac has been kept simple - the eaux-de-vie speaks volumes. Prepare to escape to a warm summer's afternoon, as the floral and fruity freshness of the Cognacs aromas immerse through your senses upon the very first sip.
How to enjoy
Serve Ancêtre Cognac neat or on the rocks and let this beautiful blend of eaux-de-vie do the talking. Alternatively, Maison Dudognon recommends that Ancêtre is enjoyed as a digestive as the deliciously sweet hints of gingerbread and chocolate in the eaux-de-vie will come to life when paired with a chocolate or gingerbread dessert.
About Dudognon Cognac
The family at Maison Dudognon have been distilling Cognac since 1776. Over the centuries, their efforts have resulted in many gold medals; the current owner Claudine, as well as her father and great-grandfather, have all been recognized for their skill and brilliance. Over the generations, they have nourished and worked the soil, respecting the delicate balance of the soil to produce quality grapes. Their location in the heart of the Grande Champagne region allows them to create outstanding eaux-de-vie, using Ugni Blanc grapes as well as more traditional varieties like Folle Blanche and Montils. In the name of tradition, Claudine also swears by the use of wood-fired stills - just like her ancestors did.
