Château de la Béroje is a family Armagnac estate in Le Houga, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac. Its name means “The Beautiful” in the language of Gascony, a fitting identity for a property surrounded by vines, woods and the sandy soils known as sables fauves. The estate produces Armagnac entirely from its own vineyards, with the wines distilled, aged and bottled on site. Its style is shaped by single continuous distillation, slow maturation in oak and a cool barrel-room that encourages depth, roundness and aromatic finesse. Château de la Béroje is especially known for Grand Bas-Armagnac and vintage bottlings, with releases dating from 1946 to the present day. Expect expressive notes of prune, spice, vanilla, nuts, candied apricot, lime blossom and rancio in the older eaux-de-vie.
