Armagnac Clés des Ducs 1960
Description
Return to the Swingin’ Sixties with Clés des Ducs’ Vivacious Vintage
Armagnac 1960 Clés des Ducs is here to allow vintage lovers to recall the styles, stars and songs of the sixties. This beautiful brandy, bottled in 1960, was distilled amidst prime terroir in Panjas at the Bordeneuve cellars, right in the heart of southwest France’s proud Armagnac region.
Armagnac 1960 was produced by Clés des Ducs, an award-winning house whose terroir spans the historical Panjas, Maupas and Estang areas. It is a house committed to upholding the Gers region’s noble traditions of Armagnac production, a practice that dates back all the way to the 15th century. The terroirs over which they extend are known for their tawny sands, and the grape variety used most prominently by Clés des Ducs is the Ugni Blanc.
The wealth of 1960 can be felt in the rich flavors of Armagnac 1960, and the slow pace of the past era is recalled by the eau-de-vie’s long finish. Classiness is also upheld in the Armagnac’s light woodiness, making for a lush tasting experience that is most effective when taken neat.
This vintage eau-de-vie comes in a graceful Exception bottle, light flecks of copper and straw yellow glistening alongside its rich amber base. With a tall, tapered body and slim neck, the packaging is the perfect mix of old and new for this brandy’s throwback charm.
This particular eau-de-vie is just one in a series of Clés des Ducs’ award-winning vintage Armagnacs. The house won gold in 2016 for their 1998 vintage, as well as for a string of their Armagnac blends.
An immersive voyage back to 1960 is not only possible, but highly pleasurable with this lovely offering from Clés des Ducs.
