Larsen Extra Or Cognac: the Quintessence of Luxury

The super-premium Larsen Extra Or Cognac is a blend of the oldest Fine Champagne eaux-de-vie from the cellars at Maison Larsen. The result is a genuinely delightful Cognac and a true sensory experience, with its aromas of coffee and cocoa followed by a plethora of tastes on the palate -- some of which are at the more unusual end of the spectrum, such as balsamic, truffles, and delicate spices.

The history of Larsen Cognac dates back to the early decades of the 20th Century, when a 24-year-old Norwegian skipper from Tromsø, Jens Reidar Larsen, left home in search of a new life in the Americas. Along the way, his boat made a stopover in Bordeaux for essential repairs, and the industrious Jens Reidar decided to make the most of the opportunity, seeking work in a nearby town. It was here that he found his new life - falling in love with a local girl as well as the local spirit - and he never got back on that boat. After spending several years learning the Cognac trade at the famous House of Prunier, Jens Reidar eventually founded Larsen Cognac in 1926.

The labelling and sealing clearly state that this bottle is the quintessence of luxury. Gold wraps the full height of the bottle and even extends to its shoulders, neck and opening. The weighty stopper is a continuation of the label, created in the same golden hue, while the neck of the bottle has been enhanced by finely embossed metallized paper. Finally, this exceptional decanter is presented in a black and gold display case which opens up like a book to slowly reveal its prized contents. 

How to Enjoy

This well-aged Cognac would be best enjoyed neat and at room temperature to fully express its most complex tasting notes. It is also an excellent pairing for fine cigars.
