The skillful savoir-faire of generations of Cognac producers culminates in this unique blend, whose recipe remains a secret, protected by Master Blender Richard Braastad himself. The Braastad Extra Cognac exemplifies the Extra age category, a full-bodied beauty with an exceptional level of finesse. It took Richard Braastad ten years to complete the blend, incorporating ancestral and ancient eaux-de-vie distilled by his great-grandfather, grandfather and father, a true family affair. The average age of this blend is a staggering 60 years.
Winner of the Best Luxury Cognac award upon its launch in 2007, the Braastad Extra Cognac has proved popular with serious connoisseurs thanks to its masterful maturation, finesse and complexity.
It's clear that the love and passion that has existed throughout the generations of both the Tiffon and Braastad family is present in this lovingly crafted Cognac. It contains rare and old eaux-de-vie that have been stored for centuries in the prized cellars of the Chateau de Triac in Jarnac. Even the luxurious packaging is evidently the work of a perfectionist; no wonder it took over a decade to develop.
This stunning square decanter perfectly frames the masterpiece of maturation housed within. Featuring an engraved silver plaque on both the body and neck of the bottle, the sleek silver stopper adds a decadent and luxurious feel to this Extra-aged blend. In the heart of Grande Champagne in the village of Jarnac lies the impressive Chateau de Triac. The chateau is the home of Cognac Tiffon, to which the Cognac brand Braastad belongs.
Rubbing shoulders with other famous Cognac houses such as Bisquit or Courvoisier, the brand Braastad was created when a Norwegian named Sverre Braastad married into the Tiffon family.
Known for their devotion to the traditional Cognac producing methods, today the whole process is still carried out at the family premises, and Cognac Braastad’s products are renowned worldwide.
