A blend of the four major crus of the Cognac region, Martell VS Fine Cognac contains eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois terroirs. The Martell VS has been aged in Limousin oak barrels for about 5-7 years, over 3 years longer than the legal requirement of 2 years. This is a testament to the craftsmanship Martell continues to implement despite becoming a hugely successful brand, guaranteeing quality with every sip.
Founded in 1715 by Jean Martell, the brand is older than a lot of the other major Cognac houses (Courvoisier or Hennessy for example), and has become iconic and recognizable all over the planet. Located in Cognac itself, on the banks of the Charente river, the brand exclusively uses French oak barrels to age their Cognacs, creating blends with lighter tannins and a more delicate woody flavor.
The house has over 300 years of history and heritage under its belt, so it’s clear that the expertise employed in producing even the youngest of Cognacs results in a quality product that sees their VS Fine Cognac a staple of many bars, restaurants and clubs across the world.

The bottle's bell shape and distinctive royal blue detailing on the label are typical of Martell, with the design becoming instantly recognizable for Cognac drinkers all over the world. The bottle has the Martell stamp embossed onto the neck of the bottle, with gold features reaffirming it's 'Fine' quality, a refined and representative design synonymous with Martell's rich history and established status in the industry.
Martell is the oldest of the Big Four Cognac houses. Similar to Rémy Martin, but a few years older still, not long ago did Martell celebrate its 300-year anniversary. The history of Martell & Co dates back to 1715 when Jean Martell founded the company with the wish to produce only the highest quality in Cognac. With the legendary bottles Martell Cordon Bleu, the cuvée Martell Extra L’Or de Jean Martell and the recent Création Grand Extra from 2007, the company strongly implanted itself in the luxury goods market, and are famous for using large amounts of eaux-de-vie from the Borderies terroir. It belongs to Pernod Ricard and has sales of around 15 million liters every year. The most precious eaux-de-vie, some of which date back to 1830, are stored in a secret location in the cellars of Jean Martell - approximately 1.6 million 9-liter cases!
