Réserve Limitée Ancestrale VIP Rare Cognac is a single Grande Champagne offering from the house of Brillet. Bottled at 42% vol, it is a very mature and very rare single blend. A unique limited edition and rare collectors item. Having reached the maximum aging time for a Cognac in old oak barrels, the precious eaux-de-vie is then transferred to be preserved in “Dame Jeanne” barrels for a short eternity before being bottled under the label Réserve Limitée.
Cognac House Brillet is one of the oldest manufacturers in the Cognac region, dating back to 1656. Brillet is known for its unique production technology and exceptional quality Cognac, Pineau and Liquor Belle de Brillet products. The house matures it's Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie for 10-100 years in oak barrels and produces only single-cru Cognacs, guaranteeing their uniqueness and quality.
Displayed in an antique 70cl mouth-blown bottle, Brillet Reserve Limitee Ancestrale VIP Rare, represents the art of simplicity. Meanwhile, the Cognac inside takes center stage through its stunning amber coloring. The bottle’s classic typography and labelwork inflicts a touch of tradition and compliments the antique style bottle beautifully.
Allow the Cognac to breathe once the bottle is open, then pour into a tulip glass, at room temperature. The narrow top of this type of glass will delicately distribute the arrival of aromas during the tasting. By adding a dash of ice or mineral water, you are able to subtly change the tasting experience.
Proud of its family tradition, Brillet Cognac insists that the history is entirely linked to that of cognac. As early on as 1656, Guy Brillet installed his first alembic (the classic still) at his property in the Grande Champagne. This was the introduction of the double distillation process that creates cognac to this day. The Brillets live off their philosophy that things made with care are more valuable, sticking to traditional techniques of production and packaging. Their motto is not to impress through high maintenance or expensive containers, but rather through a humble and high quality aesthetic: a real family business!
