Hennessy JonOne VS Limited Edition Series Cognac

This blend of over 40 eaux-de-vie from the four premier growing regions of Cognac is a collaboration with JonOne, a Dominican Republic born street artist who now commits his works of art to canvas as well. His works have been displayed worldwide, and now also graces the Hennessy JonOne VS Limited Edition Series Cognac. While the label is new, the liquid inside the bottle is still Hennessy’s signature. To create this stunning VS expression, only the finest Ugni Blanc grapes are selected, fermented and distilled twice in copper pot stills. After distillation, only the best eaux-de-vie will be selected during tasting sessions held by a select committee of experts, with the final blend crafted by Hennessy’s eighth-generation master blender, Renaud Fillioux de Gironde.

Maison Hennessy uses casks of French Limousin oak to age their VS Cognac, imparting a robust, nutty note to complement the light and fruity grape characteristics. Before they even get to touch the spirit, the wood for the casks has been left outside for several years, exposing it to the changing seasons to reduce bitter flavors and develop a natural vanilla sweetness. Every detail of Hennessy’s Cognac production is deliberate; even the location of their cellars has been chosen with care to provide a humid environment and a relative moisture level of at least 90%, accelerating the angel’s share of alcohol vapors to create a more mellow spirit.

Hennessy VS is famous for its curved bottle, tall neck and classic label. This time around, the design has been updated with JonOne’s graphic style, with both the bottle and the packaging adorned with bright primary colors. The layering of the colors signifies the layering of the tastes and aromas used by Hennessy's cellar master in the making of their blends and the design also incorporates the year that Hennessy came into being - 1765.
