Meukow was founded by two brothers from Silesia, August-Christophe and Gustav Meukow, and is today one of the few Russian Cognac brands in the Charente region. Initially sent to source Cognac for Tsar Alexander II in 1850, the brothers travelled back and forth for years in their search for the most prestigious casks. Seeing an opportunity to start up business for themselves, in 1862 they decided to remain in France and opened their distillery.

The company grew rapidly, managed under the influence of prestigious shareholders like Henri Bouraud, the Mayor of Cognac from 1849 to 1869. Today, Meukow Cognac is distributed in over 80 countries around the world.

Presented in the classic rounded Meukow bottle with a pouncing panther motif molded onto the glass. Due to its distinctive design, the brand is sometimes referred to as the ‘jaguar spirit’.
