This release was the first variation of the new Hennessy VSOP carafe, a brainchild of automobile designer Chris Bangle launched worldwide in 2012. Hennessy VSOP Kyrios Limited Edition Cognac joined the Hennessy VSOP Privilege Collection as the epitome of a true collector’s bottle. Taking design cues from the character of Hennessy VSOP, Kyrios was forged with class, exclusivity and desirability in mind.
While this release represents Chris Bangle’s contemporary iteration of the Hennessy VSOP bottle, it nevertheless carries on the heritage as the exact same blend commissioned by King George the IV almost two centuries ago. The House of Hennessy specializes in distilling their eaux-de-vie without the lees for a smooth, clean palate and utilizing humid cellars for a steady maturation. As the largest Cognac Maison worldwide, we can trust that Hennessy knows exactly how to make each eau-de-vie work in tandem with one another to create the ultimate sensory experience.
The distinct shape of Hennessy VSOP has been dressed in matte carbon black this time, giving the Kyrios a quiet brilliance. Copper grapes decorate the bottle as a reminder of the ancestral savoir-faire and elaborate craftsmanship of the blend, while slick lines flank the Hennessy VSOP label to accentuate the silhouette. The label itself is an innovation, being the very first 3D label to be used on a spirit bottle, proudly emblazoning the 1817 monogram. By night, Kyrios comes alive with a glow from the flanking silhouette lines that shine in bright copper under blacklight. Truly a Cognac to enjoy after dark.
