An iconic blend, the Courvoisier VSOP Fine Champagne Cognac will be one of the most prized of your collection. This exclusive Cognac is made up of eaux-de-vie from two regions in the Cognac appellation, each as famous and exclusive as each other. Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, with their chalky soil and rolling hills, are both considered amongst the premier regions for Cognac.
Matured for between 8 and 12 years in a selection of Troncais and Limousin oak barrels, with distillation taken from Ugni Blanc grapes of both Grande and Petite Champagne areas, the blend is a medium-bodied classic. This Cognac is considered nowadays somewhat of a collector's item.
Courvoisier Cognac has also developed the nickname of “Le Cognac de Napoleon” as Napoleon Bonaparte held it in such high esteem. Legend has it that he even took with him hundreds of bottles during his exile.
The decanter comes in a 70cl with an elegant, long neck and appealing Royal Blue seal on the front. Caramel colored cork casing seals the cap in an elegant fashion, as is to be expected from a VSOP.
A smooth Cognac that is a standalone blend, but also fantastic in cocktails.
Courvoisier is amongst the four leading Cognac houses in the world - also known as the 'Big Four'. Legend has it that the emperor Napoléon himself chose Courvoisier as his preferred Cognac, therefore Courvoisier brandy is often referred to as “The Cognac of Napoleon”. The company dates back to 1828 and since has its headquarters in the town of Jarnac. With prestigious bottles such as Courvoisier Napoléon or Josephine, the Cognac house is at the top of the luxury spirits market. The Courvoisier VS, VSOP, and Rose Liqueur are also very popular. The drink is strongly ingrained in US Hip Hop culture with Busta Rhymes and P Diddy dedicating the song “Pass the Courvoisier” to the traditional brand.
