The latest installment of the VS Limited Edition Cognac series is a collaboration with contemporary Argentinian-Spanish artist, Felipe Pantone. The Limited Edition bottle is the Hennessy VS “Remixing the Present” and evokes a sense of an analog past combining with a digitized future.
The Hennessy “Very Special” is a classic; the youngest of Hennessy Cognacs that perfect as a mixer for cocktails. It is made up of 40 different eaux-de-vie, some of which have been aged for up to 8 years. It has an intense and full-bodied character, with notes of citrus fruit, apple, French oak, grilled almonds, and fresh grapes coming to the fore.
The inspiration for “Remixing the Present” comes from Pantone’s affinity for the Hennessy philosophy, of bringing their centuries-old savoir-faire soaring into the future. Pantone himself, born in Buenos Aires but brought up in south-east Spain, started out as a graffiti artist at the age of 12. With the Hennessy VS Limited Edition, he evokes a spirit of neon gradients, geometric shapes, optical patterns, and jagged grids; contrasting technicolor with black and white.
The bottle is a fusion of color, bold and stand-out graphics with 3D illusions brought to life by computerized technique. The lightning bolt and the three stars adorn the label, seal and “wax stamp”.
V.S is a lively Cognac whether enjoyed neat, on ice, or with a mixer. The lively and robust flavors of Hennessy V.S make it ideal for a wide array of cocktails. Some cocktail recipes include mixing it with grapefruit juice, lemon juice, honey syrup, basil leaves, chipotle powder, and a grapefruit wedge.
