Hardy VS Red Corner Fine Cognac: Bright and Lively

This creamy, youthful Cognac blend has been crafted with eaux-de-vie aged for at least five years in Limousin oak - significantly longer than the minimum required for a VS Cognac. The Hardy VS Red Corner Fine Cognac is a fantastic release from this famed Cognac house, better known for their luxury releases, representing great value for money. Unusually, it has been produced from Ugni Blanc grapes harvested in the underrated Fins Bois region. The soil of this growing area contains smaller patches of chalk that are less porous than that which is found in other crus, producing eaux-de-vie that are full-bodied, supple and fruity.

The English wine and spirits merchant Anthony Hardy made the decision to establish himself as a Cognac trader as far back as 1863. He changed his name to the more French-sounding Antoine and set up business as a distiller and dealer of Cognac. Within only a few years he was being recognized for the quality of his products and built up a strong supply of eaux-de-vie; lucky indeed, as the phylloxera epidemic was soon to take hold. Hardy came out on the other side and expanded into an international network of distributors.

In the 21st Century, the House of Hardy is appropriately run by two women - Bénédicte and Sophie Hardy - who continue to promote their family brand across North America and Europe.

Presentation of the Bottle

The tall, straight bottle features a heavy glass base and black foil around the neck. The black and gold label has a retro feel, contrasting with the otherwise modern design. The corner of the label is ‘folded’ over, featuring a red color underneath - referring to the name of the Cognac, of course.

How to Enjoy Hardy VS Red Corner Fine Cognac

This young Cognac is an excellent digestif, best enjoyed neat or on the rocks. It’s also an excellent base for cocktails and mixed drinks, pairing particularly well with stone fruit flavors, coconut and orange. Try using it instead of rum in a Mai Tai!

О Hardy Cognac

With a history dating back to 1863, Cognac Hardy is well known for quality cognacs and traditional production methods. Passed down throughout the generations, this family house of cognac, which can be recognized by its rooster logo, was one of the very first to embrace the spoils of a worldwide distribution network. Thanks to the love of an entrepreneurial Englishman for the French Charentaise countryside, Cognac Hardy boasts a 150 year history of providing a range of cognacs to the four corners of the globe.
