This very special, multi-award-winning expression from the historic House of Camus was originally created to celebrate the millennium. Camus Extra Cognac is made up some of the oldest and finest Cognacs from the Borderies, Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne crus. With the eaux-de-vie in the blend ranging from 30 to 50 years old, this is a rare Hors d’Age Cognac indeed.
The presence in the blend of some rare old Borderies eaux-de-vie from the smallest growing area enhances the sophisticated, smooth aroma with an unmistakable scent of violets.
After optimum maturation for several decades in cool, damp cellars, this aged Cognac has developed intense aromatic flavors with dominating notes of florals, toasted nuts and leather, culminating in a velvety final.
The curved, tapered-edge decanter is elegance and simplicity itself. Unsurprisingly, the House of Camus has opted for a modern design to celebrate a new millennium, with clean lines and futuristic chrome stopper. The stunning, high-end presentation box opens up like a book to slowly reveal the bottle. This would make an exceptional centerpiece for any Cognac collection.
Rare old blends like this deserve your full attention: pour gently into a tulip glass and let it rest for 30 seconds before taking a sip. To allow the aromas to open up further, a small dash of mineral water could be added.
