Hennessy teams with the internationally acclaimed artist and director Refik Anadol to reveal the emotion behind the Hennessy V.S.O.P. Designed by a media artist, director and pioneer in the aesthetics of data and machine intelligence, Anadol’s work locates creativity at the intersection of humans and machines. Painting with a thinking brush, radical visualizations of digitized memories is evident in the bottle’s futuristic, yet warm display. Based on his ethos of “caring about the uniqueness and craftsmanship” Anadol’s representation of a true Hennessy classic boasts a modern elegance, with the utmost respect for its renowned heritage.
The Hennessy V.S.O.P blend is an expression of eight generations of Master Blenders' know-how. To perpetuate the legacy of the original Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège, Hennessy Master Blenders constantly seek to create a completely harmonious blend. Displaying that with definitive expression, the V.S.O.P is beautifully balanced and harmonized with seamless perfection. Based on a selection of firmly structured eaux-de-vie, aged largely in partially used barrels in order to take on subtle levels of oak tannins, a highly characterful, yet complimentary cognac is perfectly produced.
Exceptionally, the power of balance appears in a harmonious and poetic surface design, Anadol uses 3D data mapping, to interpret and transcribe the Tasting Committee’s emotions into the color, shapes, reliefs. Transcribing these textures onto the 2021 Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège Limited Edition means that what was once an invisible sensory experience has suddenly become tangible. Data becomes art in a visual metaphor for a blend. Like the cognac itself, the sense of Heritage and the artwork is designed to be appreciated on an individual, sensorial level.
