Ferrand 1840 Original Formula is a revival of the Ferrand Classic 3 Star Cognac and is made up of eaux-de-vie produced from vines located at Angeac, Grande Champagne, the best planting region of the Cognac area. Distilled in the typical Alambic Charentais and aged in Limousin oak barrels, this Cognac is characteristic of its Premier Cru and reveals in harmony - floral fragrances, fruity flavors alongside delicate hints of spices.

Inspired by a Pinet Castillon Cognac from 1840, this blend embodies the traditional style of this old Cognac, while maintaining the contemporary brand image, in keeping with other Cognacs in the Pierre Ferrand range. Cognac is traditionally enjoyed neat or on the rocks. The bold character of 1840 Original Formula also allows this Cognac to be served as the base of different, refreshing cocktail recipes. The house of Ferrand recommends using this blend to mix up a alluringly fresh Mint Julip.
Method: Gently muddle the mint and syrup in the bottom of a julep cup. Add the Cognac and fill the glass with ice. Gently stir until the cup frosts over, then top up with a scoop of crushed ice and garnish with the leftover mint leaves.
