A Champagne VS Cognac aged for 3-5 years

A youthful and powerful Very Special Cognac, the Du Frolet VS Cognac is full of personality. Aged between 3 and 5 years, it is a fantastic bottle that is made entirely of eaux-de-vie from the Petite Champagne, and Ugni Blanc grapes.

The Petite Champagne has become synonymous with total finesse, thanks to the light, floral eaux-de-vie that it produces. All of the Du Frolet Cognacs come from their best Petite-Champagne soils, which are clay-limestone and only about 20cm in depth. This means the subsoil is a particularly active form of limestone. This combined with the undulating hills that perfectly capture the right amount of sunlight for the vines that grow there makes for a fantastic Cognac.

Distilled over lees after harvesting the grapes, the eaux-de-vie is aged in Limousin oak casks in a very humid cellar on their estate, which in turn causes the eaux-de-vie to age quickly and naturally. The time it takes for the eaux-de-vie to mature depends - for this Cognac, it is bottled quicker to keep its lively flavor and aroma.

The Quintard brothers are Thomas and Bastien, who have grown up with the spirit of the vine in their DNA. They are the fourth generation of landowners and have created a brand that perfectly encapsulates what they are about. As independent Cognac makers since 2019, they are committed to growing vines in a way that respects the environment and the terroir.

How to serve the Du Frolet Quintard VS Cognac

This is a round and fiery Cognac, that lends itself to its youthful character. The dried fruits and minty finish makes it the perfect match for long drinks and aperitifs.
