Opis
Camus VS Elegance Cognac: Flawless Youth and Elegance
It’s no surprise that Camus VS Elegance Cognac has been the recipient of so many awards over the years; this young Cognac displays an exceptional palate and floral nose, owing to its distillation on the lees and maturation period in fine-grained French oak. Aged for a minimum of two years, this VS is a blend of eaux-de-vie from several regions. It has been made with only the most aromatic fractions from the heads of the second distillation, resulting in a high content of esters expressed as particularly fragrant fruity notes. It has been described by the Cellar Master as the “quintessential Camus Cognac”.
Since Jean-Baptise Camus founded his company in 1863, four generations have followed in his footsteps to turn this small winegrower into a world-renowned Cognac house of distinction. Their family-owned vineyards are part of a magnificent estate of 280 hectares (691 acres), located in the very heart of Cognac. Under Cyril Camus, fifth-generation director of Camus Cognac, the family remains passionate about responsible cultivation, allowing their fields to accumulate organic matter while preserving wildlife in the surrounding environment.
Presentation of the Bottle
The elegant, curved shape of the bottle perfectly complements the amber liquid inside. The gold and white label contrasts with the black box and cap, and of course, the neck is embossed with the Camus logo. Conveniently, Camus VS Elegance Cognac comes with a screw cap which also doubles as a 20ml measure - great for making cocktails or mixed drinks.
How to Enjoy
This exuberant VS Cognac is ideal to drink on the rocks, or used in cocktails and aperitifs. Try it with tonic or with a splash of soda - or use it in a Cognac Old Fashioned:
- 60ml (or three capfuls) Camus VS Elegance Cognac
- 10ml Sugar syrup
- 3-4 dashes of Angostura Bitters
- Long twist of orange zest
Stir the first three ingredients together with ice on an old fashioned or large rocks glass for a couple of minutes to allow for generous dilution. Rub the orange zest gently against the sides of the glass and place in the drink. Add more ice if required and serve.

One of the best VS out there
The color makes me think of honey. With its relative accessibility and being fully family-owned, I see this Cognac house as sort of the Springbank of the category. The brand uses grapes from other regions. But it also uses grapes just from it's home base of the Borderies subregion in Cognac. I've...
O Camus Cognac
