This exquisite bottle of Extra Cognac is a part of La Fayette’s prized collection. Marquis de la Fayette Extra Decanter is made from the highest quality ingredients from the Grande Champagne - known for producing excellent Cognac thanks to the high chalk content of the soil, maritime climate, and optimal sun exposure.
The Cognac also goes through a double distillation to ensure that it is not short of excellence. The La Fayette Extra has been aged for up to 35 years - first for 10-14 months in hard, toasted new barrels and the remaining time in old casks. The Cognac is composed of 25 different eaux-de-vie that are 100% Grande Champagne.
La Fayette takes a while to store and reduce the Cognac to the final 40% alcohol content. It is first stored with 55% Cognac, which is gradually reduced with taste tests conducted throughout. Here, the oldest reserves have been used and a large part of the cognac is much older.
A Cognac snifter glass is suggested for a traditional tasting moment. This Cognac is best enjoyed after dinner as a digestif, or you can enjoy the drink with your friends and family over dinner by serving it neat. For those who like it a little cooler, a couple of ice cubes work a treat.
