描述
Chateau d'Orignac Very Old Pineau des Charentes
Chateau d’Orignac Very Old Pineau des Charentes is the result of patient maturation for more than 25 years in two 350L oak barrels. The bottling took place at the Château in February 2012, and there are only 935 bottles of this rare nectar produced in total. A beautiful selection for an aperitif, this is an offering that merits recognition outside of the Charente region of France.
Château d'Orignac has been producing grapes for at least 800 years. Located in the Fins Bois cru on limestone slopes near the Gironde estuary, it cultivates a variety of different grapes to be used in producing the brand’s collection of Cognac and Pineau. Over the successive centuries, the family behind Chateau d’Orignac have been deeply involved with the spirit of the property. In doing so, the Chateau itself boasts the timeless and serene atmosphere it has today. Meanwhile, the brand's heritage and environmentally conscious values remain ever-present.
Presentation of the bottle
Housed in a classic fuss-free Cognac bottle, the contents inside speak volumes as the mahogany and amber hues shine through with glimmering golden highlights. Meanwhile, golden accents on the label and bottle’s neck finish the presentation with elegance. Arriving with a sophisticated cardboard gift box, it serves as a refined gift to the modern Cognac drinker.
How to enjoy
There is no doubt that this is a great bottle of Pineau that should be served chilled – making it the perfect aperitif or late afternoon tipple on the rocks. Picture yourself now in front of the fire with a glass of this very old Pineau des Charentes in one hand and some roasted chestnuts in the other. Bliss. Alternatively, it is just as delicious when served at the end of a meal as a digestive and paired with a beautiful piece of Roquefort cheese.
