Enjoyable Young Armagnac
Sweet, Yellow apples and apricots. Vanilla, some wood, followed by a hint of nuttiness and acacia honey. Overall, a very enjoyable balanced young Armagnac. If I have to compare it to drinks of similar age this is better than all VSOP cognacs I had.
Grateaud XO Borderies
Beautiful shiny amber with copper reflexes. The nose of the cognac is quite mature and inviting on sweet, ripe pears, warm spicy notes (pepper, cinnamon), but there is also a fine scent of floral honey. On the palate the alcohol is nicely integrated with sweet fruit notes (dried apricots and ...
Malternative No 28
Nose: apricots, mirabelle plums, a little apple, light woody notes. A little sharp, not quite round. Taste: Similar to the nose, wood a little more present. Surprisingly powerful for 40.86%. But not quite round here either. Finish: Medium length, fruity and woody Verdict: Not a bad Cognac wit...
A Cognac with wild character
Dark nose: Earth Leather Oak Spices Tobacco Mouth: Spices Oak Plum Jam Dried Dark Fruits Chocolate (more pronounced in the aftertaste) I was very pleasantly surprised by this Cognac. It is not that refined compared to some big brand bottles, but it is wild and appealing in its own...
Great Pomace Brandy
On the nose, fine notes of tobacco, oak, spices, and a dose of ginger (with few drops of water). The mouth is consistent with the nose and fruitiness. It has a pleasant robustness because it was distilled from pomace. It makes the mouth wet and longing for another sip. This is very similar...
Very complex, good for the money.
Medium sweetness with some apricot, pear, and floral notes. Other flavors of nuts, wood, and some spice develop. Very complex flavor and finish that has so much going on it's hard to pick out individual flavors. This one is a winner at this price. I've never had a bad bottle from Prunier.
