Where do the cognacs originate from?

All cognac bottles we sell are shipped directly from Cognac, France. They originate and are sourced directly from the cognac producers and distillers in the region.

Are the cognacs authentic?

Absolutely.  Only original cognac, approved as such by the French government, is shipped. The authenticity of all products is guaranteed.

We currently ship to the following countries: 

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Singapure, United Kingdom, USA.

Do we ship to the USA?

Yes. We cover all US import duties and US customs fees. Please take a look at our shipping conditions

Where do we ship to in the US?

All states excluding Alabama, Arkansas, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Utah, Wyoming, Iowa, Kentucky, and North Dakota. Please take a look at our shipping conditions

Is there a minimum order?

No, we're happy to ship a single bottle. And there’s no minimum amount either.

How long is the delivery time?

We try and get your bottles to you as quickly as possible.

Delivery times depend on a variety of factors. Once payment has been received  the estimated delivery times to the different parts of the world are as follows: Continental France and Corsica: 3 working days. French Oversea Territories: 12 - 15 working days.  All EU Countries: 8 - 10 working days.  Rest of the World: 12 - 15 days.

How high will my shipping costs be?

All orders are professionally packed and shipped. The shipping costs depend on the weight and volume of the package and the delivery location. When placing your order you will be provided with a total shipping cost. This includes picking & packing, French VAT (if applicable), and shipment service to the final destination. You will not be charged any additional costs for the delivery of your order by Cognac Expert, however, additional customs fees may apply for non-EU shipments to have the order delivered.

How do I know when my package is due to arrive?

Once your order is placed and shipped you will be provided with a tacking number.  We will also send you a notification when your order is due to be delivered.

Do I need to accept the package in person? 

In most countries, high volume spirits need to be signed for by an adult upon receipt. Please make sure you read our instructions and the instructions of the shipping company to avoid returns.

Are the prices in the shop final? 

Yes. All prices displayed on are the final prices. They include French VAT or exclude French VAT. 

Who is responsible for the package once shipped?

The client is responsible for the package once shipped. 

Are the shipped parcels insured?

Yes. Your order is 100% insured, backed by a multinational insurance provider with headquarters  in Switzerland. More details about our Claims procedure.

Do I need to get in touch with customs to clear my order? 

This might happen, but typically not. Alcohol orders may be subject to local taxes, duties, and customs in your country. Delays may occur when orders are clearing customs. 

The client is responsible for any potential import duties or customs procedures. We cannot be hold responsible for any delay, blocking, or seizure by customs or any other import or tax authority. It is the obligation of the customer to be in touch with local customs or any other authorities. 

Canadian/Asian clients, please note: Your order at the regular shop,, may be subject to local import duties or customs fees. We do not take any responsibility for any local laws, import duties, taxes, or custom fees.

What payment methods can I use? 

We process payments via Stripe. Payment is secured via SSL secured payment server.

Is my privacy assured? 

Yes. Your privacy is very important to us. We only use the information you supply us with, and do so in a lawful manner and only for the purpose of your transaction. Your details will never be shared with any third party.

What if I don’t want to enter my credit card details online? 

Don’t worry, you can still place an order. Simply choose the option “Payment by Bank Transfer” and you will be provided with the bank account information you need in order to proceed with placing an order via a wire transfer.

Can I send my order to an address other than my own? 

Yes, you can. However, for first-time customers we normally prefer that billing address matches your delivery address. 

If you have previously placed an order on, simply enter the name and address of the person you want the order to be delivered to in the ‘Delivery Details’ section when placing your order. Make sure they are aware of the shipment in case they need to sign for the package upon receipt to avoid returns.

Can you gift-wrap the bottles? 

Unfortunately we do not offer gift wrapping at this moment. 

How can I make a change to a placed order? 

Changing your order is easy. Please send us an email to [email protected] with the order reference you received and the changes you'd like to make.

What happens if my package is damaged when it arrives? 

We send lots of bottles, and it’s very rare that a bottle arrives damaged. However, we strongly recommend you open your package upon arrival to verify that the contents of the package have not been damaged. Do not accept the package from the courrier or post service. In case of damage, you must document the damaged bottle using photographs as best you can, and send us the images together with a damage report.  This is a requirement for your insurance to be valid. Of course, we at will so our utmost to keep our customers happy.

In case of damage and in order to claim a refund or a replacement, you must report the damage within 48 hours of receiving the package. Please send an e-mail to [email protected] with the following details: Your order reference or invoice ID, date and time when you received the package, and detailed photos of the damaged goods. You will receive confirmation that we have received your message. Please note: If you send the claim more than 48 hours after arrival of the shipment we will not be able to refund or replace the broken or damaged goods
