Released in 2019, the Meukow VSOP Copper Limited Edition Cognac comprises eaux-de-vie from several growing regions, blended together and aged well over the minimum four years required for VSOP Cognac. This Cognac house specialises in only using the heart of the distillate for their eaux-de-vie and selecting fine-grained Limousin oak for their casks, making each release spectacularly elegant and refined.
In 1850, two brothers were sent from Silesia to France to source the finest eaux-de-vie for the Russian Tsar Alexander II. With only limited success, they soon realized that they would have to start producing their own Cognac to meet the demands of the Russian royal family. Finally, in 1862, they opened their own distillery in Charente. Although Meukow Cognac was created for royals, it soon gained popularity among people of all backgrounds and is today available in over 80 countries. Cellar Master Anne Sarteaux has been overseeing production at Meukow since 2007, creating elegant expressions that are sure to impress Cognac lovers far and wide.
The signature panther motif which adorns every bottle was created in 1995 to express the bold and elegant character of Meukow Cognac. For this reason, it’s often referred to as the ‘jaguar spirit’.
The Meukow VSOP Copper Edition is presented in a lustrous copper-colored bottle with their signature panther embossed on the glass. The matching box is covered with a shimmering leopard print pattern.
Like any classic VSOP, this is a great Cognac to sip neat from a tulip glass or a tumbler with ice. If you prefer to try it in a cocktail, we recommend letting this Meuknow Limited Edition shine in a version of the classic Champagne Cocktail:
Copper Champagne Cocktail
Drop the sugar cube in a champagne flute and dash Angostura on top. Place the lemon twist in the glass, add the Cognac, top with Champagne and enjoy. As you drink, the sugar will slowly dissolve and make the drink sweeter with every sip.
