An outstanding Cognac of a significant age, Meukow Hors d'Age Rarissime Cognac is a wonderful collector’s item, composed of the oldest barrels of the Meukow company. In order to preserve its full depth of aroma and flavor, it has been bottled at a cask strength of 41.3%. Only 600 bottles have been made of this limited edition - so once it’s gone, it’s gone. 

Meukow was founded by two brothers from Silesia, August-Christophe and Gustav Meukow, and is today one of the few Russian Cognac brands in the Charente region. Initially sent to source Cognac for Tsar Alexander II in 1850, the brothers travelled back and forth for years in their search for the most prestigious casks. Seeing an opportunity to start up business for themselves, in 1862 they decided to remain in France and opened their distillery.

The company grew rapidly, managed under the influence of prestigious shareholders like Henri Bouraud, the Mayor of Cognac from 1849 to 1869. Today, Meukow Cognac is distributed in over 80 countries around the world. Cellar Master Anne Sarteaux oversees all production of Meukow Cognac, and with her distinctive style and attention to detail, she carries on traditions that have been passed down since the house was founded.

Presentation of the Bottle

Simple and elegant, the bottle design for this release is as classic as the Cognac it houses. The dark wax and vintage-style labels embody the quality that is contained inside, allowing the liquid to speak for itself. Each bottle is individually numbered and presented in a polished wood presentation case.
