History of Conte et Filles

In 2011 Anne-Laure and Blandine Conte took over the family business, that was started by their great-grandfather Coiffard in 1860. They are now the fifth generation to take over the family business, anchored in the limestone valleys of Charente. While their father had already installed an alembic still back in 1989, Anne-Laure and Blandine took over responsibility for the 150 hectares of farmland mostly used for grain and cows. However, 17 precious hectares are indeed reserved for wine production as this is where the vines grow to make Cognac.

Conte et Filles Today

Sisters Blandine and Anne-Laure share their passion and profession, continuing on in their family member’s footsteps and working hard to farm the land and grow the vines with respect for nature and organic fertilization. In more recent years the Conte et Filles vineyard has been expanded to 25 hectares and has areas covering the Petite Champagne, Fins Bois and Bons Bois crus of the diverse Cognac region.

The award-winning Conte et Filles collection features five different Cognac offerings, of various different age categories. From a Fine Heritage blend to a young, fresh and fruity Cognac - there are Cognacs to suit everyone’s taste. The wide range of products doesn’t end at Cognac, as the range also offers a selection of wines, Pineau des Charentes and even a non-alcoholic artisnal grape juice.

Visit

Blandine, Anne-Laure and their team run visits for guests to come and discover their passion and profession on-site at the family estate. Visits can be booked at 10:00 am, 15:00 pm or 17:00 pm everyday except for Sundays. You can book a place on their website: http://vignoble.contefilles.com/
