Tesseron Trésor

This is a great cognac, but my expectations may have been too high. I had a taste test with what I thought was comparable, Hennessy Paradis. Outside of the nose there was no comparison to the Paradis. May have been an unfair fight. Very Nice Cognac that most will enjoy but got great.

This review is based on a sample bottle. I genuinely don't understand why this is classified as an XO. This tastes like a very well-aged GC to me. Very smooth, long finish, a lot of honey. The sweetness is a bit too much, I won't recommend this cognac at its current price.

Rich, dark, deep amber with copper highlights on the edges. Seductive, complex, sophisticated fruit, wood. Top of the mouth flavor, smooth, elegant, complex and rewarding, rich. Lengthy finish.

Tresor is top of the range within Tesseron's Signature Series. It is about 55 years old. I bought a bottle some years back when visiting the estate. It is empty long time ago. Now I got to taste it again. And it was at least as good as I remembered it. This cognac is thick and very dark - it looks...

The best. Sophisticated nose. Spicy on the palate. Aftertaste reveals more vanilla and pepper. Good value when compared to more expensive cognacs.
