Armagnac 1310 pays tribute to Vital Dufour, an abbot from Eauze and a medical student at the University of Montpellier. In 1310, Dufour wrote about "the 40 virtues of Armagnac," a founding text preserved in the Vatican library in Rome, which dates the Gascon spirit as France's oldest brandy.
