Meukow Extra Cognac

A rare expression of a significant age, Meukow Extra Cognac has been created from some of the oldest eaux-de-vie from the house's Paradise cellar. With some of its components aged for up to 30 years in French oak, this Cognac features all the aromas and flavors you expect from extended maturation - rich leather, rancio and truffle abound. 

Meukow was founded by two brothers from Silesia, August-Christophe and Gustav Meukow, and is today one of the few Russian Cognac brands in the Charente region. Initially sent to source Cognac for Tsar Alexander II in 1850, the brothers travelled back and forth for years in their search for the most prestigious casks. Seeing an opportunity to start up business for themselves, in 1862 they decided to remain in France and opened their distillery.

The company grew rapidly, managed under the influence of prestigious shareholders like Henri Bouraud, the Mayor of Cognac from 1849 to 1869. Today, Meukow Cognac is distributed in over 80 countries around the world. Cellar Master Anne Sarteaux oversees all production of Meukow Cognac, and with her distinctive style and attention to detail, she carries on traditions that have been passed down since the house was founded.

Presentation of the Bottle

Modern and bold, the bottle design for this release is as distinct as the Cognac it houses. The weighty gold stopper, gold cord around the neck and shimmering panther motif all give a wonderful luxurious impression. The presentation box is equally stunning, featuring a matte black exterior and reflective gold on the inside. 

How to Enjoy Meukow Extra Cognac

Serve neat in tulip glasses at room temperature as a digestif, or try pairing with a cigar for a truly indulgent moment. It would also make a wonderful accompaniment to rich desserts such as a chocolate tart or bananas foster.
