Paul Beau Hors d'Age Cognac

Amber with copper & gold highlights. Spicy and fruity, becoming smokey and woody and delicious (so good I did not want to drink, just inhale). Fruit, sweet, touch of spice, mouth-filling flavor. Smokiness returns during the nice finish.

This cognac I bought some years back at Maision Grande Champagne in Segonzac. It was a well known secret that this cognac was an extremely good buy. It is fun to taste it again. Deep amber colour. Nose on overripe friuts, dried fruits, woody and earthy notes, mushrooms, tobacco - nice rancio. Sweet, exotic fruits, oranges, dried fruits (figs, dates), spices, and roasted nuts on the palate. Medium to long finish on sweet spices, tobacco leaves, wood, and rancio.

Wonderfully deep cognac with notes of burnt orange peel, marshmallow sweetness, hints of wood and a present but subtle touch of spices. Delicious neat on its own and pairs very well with a cigar. One of my favorite cognacs, especially for the price point!
