Truly a Privilege!
Exceptional 94 /100
This is truly a Gem for the money and is great for special occasion or if you bump into it and find a great price, in this instance I found it at the best price i have ever found it. I write this as I am in Nebraska and it is about time I write a dedicated review about this delicious and underrated Cognac by Hennessy, I am a fan of this Blend and have always enjoyed it, like I enjoy all my Cognacs, neat, and room temperature and served with an appropriate glass. This blend in particular is 4-15 years old, one of my favorite VSOPs hands down, the Bottle is a unique shape and the color is amazing with a deep natural Red/Mahogany, This is quite an experience and I love to describe the details of this exquisite Privilege. Pours a slightly thick liquid, aromas are immediate and obvious of Vanilla and French oak, Spices, Clove and Cinnamon are next at the nose followed by candied fruit, raisin, plum and fig, citrus at the end, already making my mouth water and to savor the next step of the amazing experience. The Palate is delicate, and exceptionally smooth, please you must swirl this blend very well as you wait as it airs out and give it a little warmth from your hand to unlock all the potential of this beauty. Caramel, Vanilla, Oak, Spice, honey, Candied fruit with citrus, clove right at the finish with Cinnamon, does not have the bite as the VS at all! Completely smooth, aftertaste hints of Plum, spice, and honey and hints you to drink to last drop, and be inspired by this Masterpiece! Savory, pairs well with a chocolate brownie, or a cupcake, or any of such!, I am a man who has tried many Cognacs, and I will say, if you want to try Cognac, definitely try this one! It is worth the effort and worth every penny especially because of it’s blends and age!

Don’t just swallow it down; allow the liquid to touch all the regions of the mouth. Doing this is necessary as the taste buds pick up contrasting flavours in the different areas of the mouth; on the tip of your tongue to the sides, for example. Take a tiny sip to prep your palate for the sensory experience to come. Take a second larger sip, and gently roll the cognac around, etting it come into contact with every corner of your mouth. Focus on the perceived textural sensations. Are the sensations round and rich or fresh and elegant? Is the overall mouthfeel intense, balanced, disjointed, or lacking presence? In short, how does the cognac feel in your mouth?
