Vallein Tercinier Brut de Fût 1990 Single Cask Cognac
Vallein Tercinier Brut de Fût 1990 Single Cask Cognac is an aromatically unique Cognac made up of eaux-de-vie of the Bons Bois cru. Revealing complex nuances of almond, port, honey, liquorice, berries and praline on the nose alone makes for a Cognac that certainly doesn’t lack character. The fresh and spicy palate unveils hints of pepper and candied apricots before progressing with very delicate hints of jasmine, vanilla and roasted hazelnuts on the finish. With its lengthy aging period of 31 years to thank for its sought-after complexity, this 1990 vintage was eventually bottled in 2021 as a limited release as a batch of just 571 bottles. A gem of its Bons Bois roots, Brut de Fut 1990 Single Cask is the ideal gift for a Cognac enthusiast who holds significance to this vintage year in particular, or quite simply for a lover of vintage Grande Champagne Cognac in general.
The Vallein Tercinier Cognac house has been operating since 1850, and has amassed five generations worth of knowledge surrounding fine-tuned Cognac production. Located in the Saintonge region, this brand now has an extensive collection of Cognacs that shines a spotlight on the family's impressive cellar of eaux-de-vie.
Presentation of the bottle
Vallein Tercinier Brut de Fût 1989 Single Cask Cognac arrives in a classic bottle, with the brand’s gold embellished logo stamped on the front of the labelling which presents a simple cream backdrop for the logo and product details. Presentation is key for this family of Cognac makers, and the elegant design work displayed in the bottle itself and the accompanying gift box reflects the esteemed craftsmanship that goes into making good Cognac. You’ll be sure to want to put this in a place for all to see.
How to enjoy
This vintage Cognac is best sipped neat at room temperature and is a Cognac that should be savoured down to every last drop - after all perfection cannot be rushed. Fine Single Cask Bons Bois VT 1990
The nose of this single cask in the beginning is quite spicy on cinnamon, pepper and licorice, developing into dried fruits, pastry notes and vanilla. On the palate there is a complex combination of slightly rustic tannins and a multitude of flavour components (vanilla, dried fruits, licorice, raisins...). The...
Brut de Fut 1990 Single Cask
Eye: Amber. Like most brut de fût Cognacs, this Cognac leaves a thick-ish disk on the glass as the glass walls are coated. Consistent slow moving legs crawl down the glass. Nose: Dipping my nose into the glass, I immediately get notes of vanilla and creamy black licorice. With just a few minutes...
A Interesting spicy bons bois cognac
I feel "Autumn" in this cognac. Specifically, I get notes of wet tree, almond, cinnamon and black licorice. I also feel Japanese pepper. I strongly taste caramel, vanilla and cacao, dry apricot in my mouth. There are good combination and balance of sweetness and spicy feeling.
