Limited to just 378 bottles, this Cognac is the result of being in the right place at the right time during a visit to the esteemed Jean Fillioux distillery in early 2023.

Picture this: Pascal and Christophe, the masterminds behind Jean Fillioux, had just selected some outstanding casks that were deemed bottle-ripe. Malternative had the privilege of being present in their cellar, tasting these liquid treasures that left them in awe and humbled by their exceptional quality. Amongst them, the lot 60/70 shone as the true highlight of the afternoon. Little did they know that our friends in Norway, absolute connoisseurs of the house, had also set their sights on this cask. Luckily, they graciously allowed Malternative to have their share, securing 120 bottles and leaving enough for all of us. Cheers to trust and mutual respect!

Out of a total cask yield of 498 bottles, Malternative Belgium proudly received 378 bottles, great news that we're excited to share with you. The lot 60/70 is a carefully curated blend primarily consisting of spirits from the '60s, with a touch of the '70s added about 20 years ago, most likely for logistical reasons. This perfectly aged Grande Champagne Cognac underwent a natural reduction, resulting in an alcohol content of 43.1%. It's wonderfully quaffable, making it a delight to drink, while also offering a captivating complexity.
