Description
Dupuy Prestige XXO Cognac
Dupuy Prestige XXO Cognac is a Grande Champagne Cognac composed exclusively of very old eaux-de-vie sourced from the premier cru of the Cognac region. This XXO expression is built around eaux-de-vie with an average age of 30 years, with some components aged for more than 40 years. The extended maturation allows the Cognac to develop depth, structure and a broad aromatic range while maintaining balance.
The Grande Champagne terroir is known for producing eaux-de-vie that evolve slowly and gain complexity over long ageing periods. In this XXO, time plays a central role, shaping a profile that focuses on richness, length and clarity rather than immediacy. The blend highlights maturity without excess, offering a composed and controlled tasting experience.
In the glass, the Cognac reveals a deep amber colour with copper reflections. The nose is immediately expressive, combining intensity with finesse. Quince jam notes bring a soft fruit sweetness, followed by cedarwood and aged leather, which add depth and structure. The aromatic profile remains precise, with no single element dominating.
On the palate, the texture is smooth and expansive. Dark chocolate and licorice form the core flavours, supported by subtle floral notes evocative of wild rose. The mouthfeel is full yet measured, allowing the aromas to unfold gradually and remain present across the palate.
The finish is notably long and persistent. Cocoa, gentle spice and mature wood notes linger, underlining the contribution of very old eaux-de-vie. The length and balance define the identity of this XXO, offering a calm and unhurried conclusion.
Dupuy Prestige XXO Cognac is intended for moments of quiet appreciation. It is designed to be enjoyed on its own, without accompaniment, where its complexity and length can be explored fully. This expression represents the upper end of the Prestige range, focusing on maturity, structure and aromatic depth.
Presentation of the bottle
The bottle features a tall, angular silhouette with thick glass walls and a heavy base that emphasizes stability. The Cognac’s deep amber colour is clearly visible through the transparent glass. A gold-toned emblem with the Dupuy insignia is positioned on the front, above the “XXO Rare Cognac” designation and the mention of Grande Champagne. The neck is finished with an elegant gold-coloured closure, adding visual contrast. The overall presentation is clean and structured, highlighting the premium positioning of the XXO.
How to drink
Dupuy Prestige XXO Cognac is best enjoyed neat, served at room temperature in a tulip-shaped glass. Allowing the Cognac a few minutes to rest in the glass will help the aromas open fully. This XXO requires no pairing and is well suited to moments of calm tasting, where its length and balance can be appreciated without distraction.
