Vaudon XO Cognac is a fine blend of eaux-de-vie from both the Grande Champagne and Fins Bois regions; famous for their mineral rich soils ideal for the growth of Ugni-Blanc grapes used to produce quality Cognac. Having aged for decades in oak wooden barrels, Vaudon XO is a mature and full-bodied Cognac that leaves a lasting impression long after tasting. Pierre demonstrates his passion, know-how and expertise through products of unrivalled quality and a family history of distillation which dates back all the way to 1771.

This XO was bought in 2017 following an advice from a very knowledgeable shopkeeper. Voyer had been a favorite for years, but this was our first discovery of Vaudon. This cognac is very delicate on the nose with clear tones orange peel. After some time in the glass I also find hints of chocolate....
The Vaudon grounds are composed of 60 hectares with the main estate being located in Fins Bois, the largest of all the Cognac growth regions. Vaudon produces both single cru Fins Bois Cognacs and ‘multicru’ blends of these with the neighbouring Grande Champagne.
Pierre Vaudon, Maître de Chai and also owner of Maison Francois Voyer, is responsible for the Vaudon family estate. The family’s distilling origins can be traced back as far as 1771, and they have always produced outstanding Cognacs, even winning a gold medal for their 1811 vintage Cognac in 1913.
