Tesseron Lot N°29 XO Exception Cognac is is the exquisite jewel of the Tesseron collection. A unique blend of legendary Ugni Blanc, Colombard and Folle Blanche grapes from the best Grande Champagne terroir, the cream of the cognac house's oldest and rarest stocks, lovingly aged for at least three generations...
This one is extraordinary cognac.
Appearance - light amber color. Looks quite light for it's age but very noble.
Smell - fruity and floral (smell is not my strongest sense unfortunately).
Pallate - brilliant. My personal feeling - warm wave that goes from mouth till the ends of fingers and toes. Bright and delicate at the same time.
Finish - long, warm and silky. Tones of apricot, vanilla, honey and a tiny ginger. Absolutely self-sufficient cognac, no need to pairing with coffee, chocolate or cigar (on my understanding). Has an aftertaste you don't want to break.
Excellent choice for remarkable occasion.
About Tesseron Cognac
Cognac Tesseron specializes, as this slogan suggests, in high-end cognacs. As their marketing slogan suggests, they only produce “XO and Beyond”, so cognacs from the XO age onwards. From their ancestral home Domaine Tesseron in Châteauneuf-sur-Charente, which lies between Cognac and Angoulême, the Tesseron family traditionally used to sell its eaux-de-vie to the large cognac houses. But in 2003 they decided to release a range under their own family name. The Tesserons are also active in wine production, owning Château Pontet-Canet – a Pauillac classified property producing Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux wine.
