Description
Tesseron Cognac Lot N° 90 XO Ovation
Tesseron Cognac Lot N° 90 XO Ovation is a vibrant and fresh offering that displays a particularly delectable combination of vigour and complexity – reflective of the high-quality eaux-de-vie selected by Tesseron for this blend. Produced from Ugni Blanc grapes selected from the Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Fins Bois crus, the eaux-de-vie is then aged for a minimum of 10 years before it’s ready to be bottled. It’s thanks to the eaux-de-vie’s long maturation process that it gains such a unique character – as its time in old French oak barrels adds richness and complexity to the tasting experience.
“The aromas are more on the sugary side, with crème brulée and some toasted wood – there is good structure on the palate. It has a pleasant bitterness that gives structure, some dried fruits and a slightly sweeter finish.”Andreas Larsson (Best sommelier in the world – 2007)
With years of know-how and expertise behind them, the Tesseron family are producers of both wine and Cognac. Specializing in the curation of well-aged Cognacs, the brand is recognised for its fine quality offerings that blend exquisite eaux-de-vie from the Cognac regions most exclusive appellations.
Presentation of the bottle
Housed in a contemporary decanter that shows off the bold golden colouring of the eaux-de-vie it beholds, the presentation of this offering will undoubtedly stand out in a collection. Contrasting red detailing on the bottle’s label and neck accentuate the Cognacs color even further, while a matching deep orange and red gift box with golden typography adds a refined finishing touch to the already sumptuous display.
How to enjoy
An XO of such outstanding quality should be enjoyed on its own – at room temperature. Drinking this Cognac neat will allow its sublime tasting notes to seduce the senses sip after sip. Take the tasting experience up a notch by adding a few cubes of ice to the bottom of the glass or by pairing it with a fine cigar. To allow the aromas to distribute evenly, the house of Tesseron recommends serving Lot N° 90 XO Ovation in a tulip glass or when drinking on the rocks – from a cocktail glass.

About Tesseron Cognac
Tesseron Cognac specializes in high-end Cognac, exclusively producing “XO and beyond” blends from their ancestral home in Chateauneuf-sur-Charente, which lies between Cognac and Angouleme. When founder Abel Tesseron, whose face features on the company’s logo, acquired the property in the late 19th century, he patiently conserved his stocks of eaux-de-vie in the 12th-century crypt located deep underneath the domain, selling his matured masterpieces to various larger Cognac houses. These reserved and rare stocks have become legendary amongst Cognac connoisseurs the world over. It was, however, only in 2003 that the fourth generation of Tesserons made the decision to release a range under their own name, armed with an unrivalled Cognac craftsmanship and fueled by the legacy left by their grandfather, the iconic brand Tesseron Cognac was born.
The Tesserons are also active in wine production, owning the esteemed Chateau Pontet-Canet, a Pauillac classified property producing Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux Wine.
