Description

St Rob XO Cognac

Comprising a blend of eaux-de-vie from the Fins Bois and Borderies areas, the St Rob XO Cognac has been matured for over ten years in oak casks. The combination of two terroirs has resulted in a rich, multi-faceted Cognac that’s perfect for any occasion. Long and rounded on the palate with notes of rancio and stone fruits, this is one to enjoy again and again.

After the Revolution in 1789, the privileges of the nobility and the clergy were abolished. One of the many estates affected by this was the Saint Robert Convent. Once upon a time it was an attractive, prosperous place but over the centuries it fell into ruin, a shadow of its former self. Over two centuries later, René-Luc Chabasse passes by the hamlet known as Saint Robert and immediately falls for the charm of this property with its 60 hectares connecting the borders of two Cognac appellations, the Fins Bois and Borderies. Despite their poor condition, the historic buildings on the estate René-Luc embarked on a huge project to breathe life back into Saint Robert. Major refurbishment and decoration work was undertaken and the ruined former abbey is now home to St Rob Cognac, represented by a phoenix on every bottle - a symbol of resurrection.

Presentation of the Bottle

The unusual bottle features a bold profile, decorated with the emblem of the house - a phoenix - hand-painted with 24-carat gold. A matching presentation box completes the package.

How to Enjoy St Rob XO Cognac

Serve neat in tulip glasses at room temperature,or perhaps with a single ice cube. Perfect as an after-dinner drink, enjoyed with dried fruits or a slice of ginger cake. This Cognac is also the perfect pairing for a fine cigar following an indulgent meal.

About St Rob Cognac

A cognac house that saw a 're-birth' thanks to the passion of one René-Luc Chabasse, the brand of St Rob is well represented by it's trademark phoenix - a logo that symbolises the re-birth of an estate that fell due to the French Revolution and the disposession of the rights of the nobility and clergy.
