Tasting review

Eye: Deep amber with ruby reflections.

Nose: Aromas of violet, honeysuckle and dried apricots gently rise from the glass. The florals move from fresh to dry petals, slowly drifting as if on a breeze.

Palate: Offering sumptuous notes of orange, cinnamon, oak and gingerbread, the palate has a wealth of darker notes that develop slowly. Summer florals still drift in, characteristic of a well-aged Fins Bois Cognac.

Description

Remi Landier XO Artisanal Cognac: Essence of Craftsmanship

The Remi Landier XO Artisanal Cognac is a hand-crafted Fins Bois blend with outstanding depth and character. Crafted only from produce sourced at the Landier vineyards and aged at least 20 years in older oak casks - much longer than the minimum required by law for an XO Cognac  - the wood notes still do not overtake the complexity of the terroir. Showing some of the best elements that the Fins Bois cru has to offer, this expression has been blended with all the skill we expect from this independent producer.

Realizing the uniqueness of their terroir and their eaux-de-vie, Remi Landier and his sons created their eponymous brand of Cognac in 1973. Most of the liquid produced here is sent to some of the largest trading houses in Cognac, which means only a small quantity is bottled under the family’s own label. For this reason, Remi Landier has long been appreciated among connoisseurs. Today, Jean-Yves and Geraldine, fourth and fifth generation of producers, offer a full range of Cognacs as well as Pineaux des Charentes.

Presentation of the Bottle

The shimmering tones of the Cognac are further enhanced by the hand-made glass bottle, blown by Mr Guillot. As a result of the glassblower’s craftsmanship, each bottle is unique and its shape may slightly differ from one to another. The gold wax and stylish presentation box complete the package.

How to Enjoy Remi Landier XO Artisanal Cognac

Pour this rare Cognac into a tulip glass and let it rest for 30 seconds before taking a sip. Optionally, a small dash of mineral water could be added to open up the aromas further. This would make an excellent companion to fruit-based desserts, almond cake or a light-bodied cigar.
