Description
Walking the Fine Line Between Finesse and Full-on Flavor: Cognac Park XO
Described as a "one of a kind" blend, Park XO Cognac has been painstakingly produced to satisfy the desires of those curious Cognac connoisseurs who seek a unique and distinctive drinking experience. Winner of many awards, it is one of the Maison Park's best sellers, it boasts a wonderfully warming aroma of Christmas fruits and nuts with a robust oaky backbone for those who like to taste every single one of the 20-25 years this XO has spent in its Limousin casks.
What makes this XO so unique is its "Traditional Reserve" blend, combining all four of the best growing regions into one exquisite Extra Old olfactory sensation. Each selection of eaux-de-vie is double-distilled in Charentais copper pot stills, producing a deep and complex depth of character that develops on both nose and palate when tasting in a succession of sensorial sips.
Not one for those who shy away from flavor, it packs a powerful punch with notes of chocolate, hazelnut and dark plums, a dominating oak flavor is punctuated on the palate by hazelnut and vanilla, with a decadent and lengthy finish. This XO is a great winter warmer with its Christmas-like fruit cake flavors and toasty oak tones.

How to Enjoy:
The robust flavor profile in this XO means it can be enjoyed neat, slowly savored to truly appreciate every single characteristic of this curious Cognac. If you prefer to complement your Cognac with something, this XO can be enjoyed alongside a dark chocolate mousse or strong arabica coffee, the bitterness will offset nicely with the wintery fruit flavors found in the Cognac Park Cognac, providing a more savory suggestion as a digestif for those dinner guests who don't have a sweet tooth.
Presentation of the Bottle:
Like many of Cognac Park's bottles, this sleek design is understated and classic. Offering all the essential information on elegant off-white labelling, topped with a silver topper, this traditional bottle acts as a subtle nod to the "Traditional Reserve" selection of eaux-de-vie and the traditional "Charentais" method of distillation. The bottle equally comes with an off-white cardboard case for gifting, storage or display purposes.

Acceptable XO
Amber, orange lights. Irregular heavy tears. Fruits and citruses at first. Various spicy notes in the background. Grapefruit juice. Orange zest marmalade. A tad of coffee beans and dry nuts scents. . Sweet texture with a tad of acidity. Citruses juice, candied orange aromas. Correct mouth length...
Fruity & Oaky Intro XO
Lovely fruits and mixed nuts greet the nose. As it opens, some subtle baking spice appears. The palate brings a bit of oak, along with some dried fruits and nut, before finishing with fruit and oak spice. I would like to have seen less oak on the palate and finish, but still a lovely intro to XO’s....
Decent XO with lots of aromas and taste
Cognac Park XO is a decent XO, but not so much more than that. Its main strenth is its aromas. It is very expressive on the nose, here you can find, fruits, wood and spices. The taste is somewhat sweet with a lot of spices and wood. You can also find some young elements. The after-taste is not too...
A Bold Cognac with Layers of Flavor
This is a very layered Cognac for sure. A lot of aromas on the nose to pick out. Tons of fruit, but also some great earthy components. There's a hint of sweet with a touch of flowers, too. The flavor is more intense on the wood and spice side, but certainly offers up some orange/lemon, apricot, and...
If you like spicy cognac, check this out one!!
Park is one of my favorite Cognac house, they are very innovative and creative. From their Park Mizunara to their single terroir single cask, Park never miss the mark. Their XO is strong, bold and spicy but well balanced and a great way to finish an evening after a big meal. Color: beautiful Copper Nose:...
A very bold and spicy cognac
The Park XO is a tastebomb. Very rich and opulent, but also balanced. Clear notes of wood and vanilla but also clove and nutmeg. Also clear hazelnut. Even some leather and dark chocolate in its long and balanced aftertaste. This one wil enrich every autumn or winter evening!!!
Longtime favorite, that never disappoints. Rich and bold.
This cognac is as longtime favorite of mine. This is a bold, unapologetically dominant cognac. Not for the faint of heart. Bursting of flavors. Nose: pronounced aromas of dark stone fruit. Prominent rancio. Apricots. Fresh tobacco leaves. Wild mushrooms. Palate: solid mouthfeel. Rancio. Sultanas....
