Pairing Perfection: The XO Cigar Blend Cognac from the Masters at Cognac Park
Cognac Park are well known for creating a unique and wide variety of Cognacs, with a diverse range of vintages and eaux-de-vie. This particular XO, aged for a minimum of 10 years, has been designed with your favorite cigar in mind, boasting a complex collection of flavors that pair perfectly with a Cuban, pleasing your palate in the process.
Also known as the Park Vieille Fine Champagne Cognac, it is made up of 70% Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie and 30% Petite Champagne in a delicate balance of all the best qualities both regions have to offer. It is a powerful and robust blend, with eaux-de-vie distilled exclusively from Ugni Blanc grapes.
Each step in the creative process has been painstakingly assessed and adapted in order to create a Cognac that works well when sipped alongside a cigar (particularly Honduran). From the fresh element of the choice in Ugni Blanc grape, to the medium toast that allows the more spicy and chocolate notes to perfume the palate.
The Cigar Blend has spent 12 months in new barrels before being transferred to traditional older Limousin oak casks, producing a wonderfully woody and spicy character. This is not the only traditional aspect of its production however, the experts at Maison Park have equally distilled this Cognac in copper pot stills using the "Charentais method".
Park XO Cigar Blend Awards
This exquisite XO has won several awards, including:
- Gold at the IWSC
- 96/100 at the 2018 Vert de Vin awards
This is most likely thanks to the multitude of marvelous flavors found in the Cognac, including honey, saffron, gingerbread, cranberry and vanilla on the nose and notes of leather, vanilla, oak and winter spices on the palate. It has a particularly rich flavor profile that can be enjoyed on its own or of course, alongside a cigar.
How to Enjoy:
With a name like "Cigar Blend" we're obviously going to recommend sipping this sensory sensation with a Honduran or Cuban cigar. However, if smoking isn't your thing, you can enjoy this Cognac on its own, neat in a traditional tulip glass.
The Cognac Park Cellar Master recommends smelling this XO with your eyes closed before taking your first sip, in order to fully focus on the aromatic expressions being released. Leaving the Cognac for a while and coming back to it should deliver a whole host of new aromas, further expanding your appreciation of this distinctive and unique blend.
The experts at the Maison Park also recommend pairing this XO with a gooey dark chocolate dessert with salted caramel, the velvety accents of the caramel and bitter dark chocolate soften the more powerful woody and spicy flavor profile of the Cigar Blend.
Presentation of the Bottle:
This classic and elegantly-designed bottle is housed in an "Exclusive Collection" expertly crafted wooden box, with a superb hand-stitched leather top that makes for a wonderful display piece to share with family, friends and other Cognac connoisseurs.
Reminiscent of a luxury cigar box, this is a true collector's item for any Cognac drinker, enjoy this masterful work of craftsmanship while sipping your Cigar Blend alongside a high-end Honduran cigar!

A lovely Cognac!!
Initially on the nose is gingerbread cookie, with some nice subtle honey poured on. As it opens, the honey comes forward, with perhaps some vanilla at the rim of the glass. A wonderful nose!! As it opens even more, some additional spices appear. It is full-bodied in the mouth, and starts semi-dry...
A bit anonymous
This is blend 70% Grande Champagne and 30% Petite Champagne stored for about 25-30 years. I have tasted it before, and then I liked it quite well. This cognac has a rather dark red golden color. It is intense on the nose, i find a lot of darker notes like Asian spices, leather tobacco and some ginger....
