Description
Michel Forgeron Barrique 1984 Cognac is an outstanding vintage eaux-de-vie and part of the 'Barrique' series from the house of Michel Forgeron. This single vintage eaux-de-vie is from the prestigious Grande Champagne terroir, and has undergone a completely natural aging process within old oak barrels, preserved deep down in the cave cellars at Michel Forgeron. As this 1984 Barrique range Cognac has been matured to cask strength of 53% - it serves as the ultimate digestif to be enjoyed following a delectable dining experience.
Boasting an array of bold aromas, Barrique 1984 Cognac, first expresses a floral nose which is quickly dominated by its woody notes of cedar and oak. It is overall a very round Cognac, that leaves deliciously sweet sensations to meander around the mouth. Whilst the alcohol strength is high it goes unnoticed against the sublime sweetness. A quality vintage eaux-de-vie like this one, ultimately acquaints those lucky enough to experience it with a trained palette for the finer things in life.
Michel Forgeron is a close knit family-run business that values sustainability and an environmentally friendly approach to viticulture. As the sons of Michel Forgeron; Pierre and Christophe excel in embracing the original roots and traditions of the family brand. Meanwhile they continue to invest in responsible development and are conscious of protecting the earth that they produce from.
Presentation of the bottle
Presented in a stylish, 50cl bottle this would be a wonderful gift for any cognac lover.
How to enjoy
This delicate vintage eaux-de-vie should be enjoyed as a digestive, after an indulgent dinner. Alternatively, accompany Michel Forgeron Barrique 1984 Cognac with a delicious fruit based dessert such as a light fruit mousse - as the sugary sweetness will accentuate the notes of fresh fig and flower petals beautifully.

About Michel Forgeron
Michel Forgeron Cognac’s uniqueness lies in its very special history, its environmental concern and of course in its quest for quality. With a relatively young history, the first cognac under the brand Michel Forgeron was produced in 1977. Their philosophy remains the same as his grandfather’s, who bought the agricultural property at the turn of the century: work better, produce better. Recently, for its hundred year anniversary, Forgeron covered one of the estate’s roofs with solar panels in order to work with sustainable energies for the cognac production.
