Eye: Deep gold.

Nose: Hints of leather and dry fruit fade into a soft scent of antique wood cabinets.

Palate: Round and fruity, somewhat feminine.  Increases in complexity in the mouth, with spicy notes and those of wood.  A long, elegant finale.

Description

Martell XO Exclusive Tricentenaire Edition Cognac

Released as a special edition for Martell's 300th anniversary,  Martell XO Exclusive Tricentenaire Edition Cognac is a visual masterpiece. Inside the bottle is Martell’s signature XO blend of mainly Grande Champagne and Borderies eaux-de-vie. Aged on average between 15 and 35 years, this Extra Old Cognac has always turned heads with its unmistakable half-crescent decanter. A true blending masterpiece, it showcases extraordinary mature notes and a lengthy finish that can only be achieved with age.

The oldest of the great Cognac houses, the House of Martell celebrated its 300th anniversary in 2015. Aged only 21 when he started out, founder Jean Martell built his family home and business on the banks of the Charente River where it still stands today. Martell Cognac has always attracted people of extravagant tastes, counting George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Napoleon Bonaparte, Tsar Nicholas II and Winston Churchill among its fans - fine company indeed for such a noble brand.

Presentation of the Bottle

The classic arched design of Martell XO has been given a stunning pearlescent coating with chrome details. The metal plaque on the front commemorates the 300-year anniversary, along with the presentation box. Definitely a bottle that will stand out.

How to Enjoy Martell XO Exclusive Tricentenaire Edition

Created with extraordinary care, this aged Cognac deserves your full attention. Serve neat in tulip glasses at room temperature, letting it rest for 30 seconds before taking the first sip. Perfect as an after-dinner drink, or enjoyed with rich desserts.

This edition is the 700ml version without a montre bottle, as shown above.

About Martell Cognac

Martell is the oldest of the Big Four Cognac houses. Similar to Rémy Martin, but a few years older still, not long ago did Martell celebrate its 300-year anniversary. The history of Martell & Co dates back to 1715 when Jean Martell founded the company with the wish to produce only the highest quality in Cognac. With the legendary bottles Martell Cordon Bleu, the cuvée Martell Extra L’Or de Jean Martell and the recent Création Grand Extra from 2007, the company strongly implanted itself in the luxury goods market, and are famous for using large amounts of eaux-de-vie from the Borderies terroir. It belongs to Pernod Ricard and has sales of around 15 million liters every year. The most precious eaux-de-vie, some of which date back to 1830, are stored in a secret location in the cellars of Jean Martell - approximately 1.6 million 9-liter cases!
