Description
Louis Royer Carnet de Cave n°3 Cognac
The third release in Louis Royer’s “Carnet de Cave” series comes from a single estate: Domaine du Ménis in the heart of Grande Champagne. Each eau-de-vie in the blend meets the XO minimum of ten years in cask, and the spirit is bottled at 44 % vol in 50 cl format. 100 % Grande Champagne grapes and humid riverside ageing give a bright fruit core wrapped in patisserie-style depth.
Presentation of the bottle
A tall, slim bottle with a high, narrow neck is sealed by a natural cork and a paper strip printed “Louis Royer”. The cream, notebook-style label shows the house bee emblem and the line “Carnet de Cave n°3”; beneath it, a vivid orange wrap-around band carries the large “XO” statement. A smaller information panel near the base notes cru, cask and bottling details. The bottle sits in a natural-finish wooden case, laser-etched with the bee, cocoa pods and hazelnut leaves, plus an orange band repeating “XO”.
How to drink
Enjoy neat in a tulip glass at room temperature. Allow two minutes for brioche and chocolate aromas to develop. A small ice cube softens the mocha finish for warmer evenings, while a dash of chilled soda creates an easy highball. Pair with dark-chocolate truffles or an almond-orange cake.
